Christmas gifts for map lovers

06 December 2012

With the season of goodwill just around the corner, many of us are thinking about what our nearest and dearest would most like to find in their Christmas stocking. Ordnance Survey has a range of maps and vouchers on offer which are ideal for the map lover in your life.

Ordnance Survey’s custom made maps can make the perfect present and are available to order online or as a gift voucher option from Cotswold Outdoor stores. With the ability to choose the area printed on the map, the cover title and cover image as well as the scale of the map, custom made maps are a great present idea for just about anyone. Each map is professionally printed to the same high quality as traditional OS Explorer Map and OS Landranger Maps and can be produced as either a flat or folded map.

Folded versions give you the opportunity to load your own cover image – making a surprise star of the recipient – or you can have fun choosing from one of our many colourful images to use.

Rolled maps are designed to be flat without a cover and are ideal for framing. Home lovers will enjoy the detail on the map if it is created around the area they live and they are perfect as a show piece on the wall in the home or workplace.

Ordnance Survey custom made maps are £16.99 and the last ordering date for Christmas delivery is 19 December.

If your loved one is planning lots of outdoor adventures an OS getamap subscription – also available as a voucher from Cotswold Outdoor shops or online – could make the perfect present. Providing online access to mapping for the whole of Great Britain at 1:25 000 and 1:50 000 scale, OS getamap can give hours of pleasure enabling the recipient to plan their adventures, map their routes and share them with friends and family.

An OS getamap 12 month subscription is available for £19.99 from the Ordnance Survey website.
