Celebrate a mappy Christmas with Ordnance Survey

It’s the last week of November, so we feel comfortable mentioning the ‘c’ word now…we’ve got a whole package of mappy Christmas goodies which should be perfect for lovers of the great outdoors.

Our Christmas competition has 101 prizes up for grabs with top prize being £400 of outdoors survival kit including the Garmin VIRB Elite action camera.  The runners up prizes include our custom made maps, OS getamap subscriptions and much more. It’s simple to enter, just enter your name and email address by 31 December 2013 and let us know if you’d like to receive our newsletter.

If you can’t wait that long and you’re looking for gift inspiration this Christmas, check out our handy gift ideas on our Map Shop. There’s something to suit all abilities and budgets.

Finally, we’ve created a fabulous Christmas map to help you find the best local Christmassy attractions this year. Using our OS OpenSpace map service, we’ve collected details of over 220 pantomimes, 200 Christmas markets and 60 spots to buy Christmas trees across Great Britain. Type in your postcode or nearest town to find the locations closest to you, or just have a browse to find a spot you’d like to visit.

We haven’t added every panto, market or Christmas tree retailer, but if you would like one added to our map, let us know on the blog. We just need to know the name of the activity, the postcode or grid reference and the website for people to find out more.

Happy gift hunting, to enter the competition click here.

  1. Christmas is just around the corner and this is now the great time for us to start on hunting gifts for our families and friends. The gift set mentioned above is very interesting. I hope I’ll get lucky and win one of those gift packages mentioned above.

The url to the competition doesn’t work from this blog.twitter.com Page, however works fine from the link on the main website page

      Hi Simon
Thanks for the message. It took me a while to find the link you were unable to access as the Christmas competition link at the top of the page works fine! Eventually made it to the last word on the page and found the broken link – it’s now fixed.

      Thanks, Gemma

      Hi Tim

Well spotted – one of our lines of prizes had gone missing. There are also some first aid kits up for grabs. They’ve been added back in now, so the numbers should all add up again.

      Thanks, Gema
