Thank you to all of you who have entered or voted for #OSPhotofit – we’ve had an amazing 10,500+ entries so far. We announced the first winners, for our 62 Outdoor Leisure maps in our OS Explorer series, back in March and those maps will start hitting the shelves from 10 June.
Now we can show you the winners for the rest of the OS Explorer map covers. We really have been thrilled with all of the fantastic photos that you’ve been sharing with us – it has made the judging process extremely difficult though! We had Steve McEntee from WH Smith, one of our major map stockists, on hand to give his expert view and help us narrow down the entries. After a lot of deliberation, we made our final decisions, and the photos have now been added to our new covers and sent off to be printed.
All of the winning photos along with the map number they’ll be appearing on and the winners’ names can be seen in our Flickr album. We’ve been emailing all of the winners to let them know and they’ll receive a copy of the map as soon as they are printed and a 12 month free subscription to OS Maps – our online mapping service. Once we have winners for all of the remaining map covers in November, all of the photos will be entered into a final judging process for the chance to win the grand prize, a UK holiday for four worth up to £750.
Don’t forget – there’s still plenty of time to enter OS Photofit:
- OS Landranger map range is open for entries until 31 October
- Junior competition for our 8 OS Tour Maps open until 31 August (which has a separate grand prize of an iPad Mini)
One more thing – don’t worry if you entered a photo and it didn’t win, the photo will still be eligible for the OS Landranger map series, and will be available for voting until 31 October. So, please keep voting and get entering now!
And if you’re looking to buy a map with a new cover – the winners of the Outdoor Leisure range are hitting shops from 10 June. The remainder of the OS Explorer maps will be coming out later this year and the OS Landranger maps in early 2016. Watch this space!
