We’re delighted to see Geovation being awarded the ‘Geospatial Hub of the Year Award’ at the Geospatial World Forum Gala Dinner this evening. The Geospatial World Leadership Awards jury recognised Geovation’s leadership role in creating a centre of excellence to nurture startups, enabling spatial innovation and entrepreneurship.
The jury noted that “Geovation has successfully connected individuals and SMEs and created opportunities, envisioned solutions and brought differentiation to the UK geospatial fraternity.”
Since opening its doors in 2015 to some of the UK’s leading geospatial start-ups, Geovation has seen the ventures it has supported raise £11.3 million in investment and create 86 new jobs. Members of Geovation are working with AI, data science, IoT, drones, SaaS, Connected Autonomous Vehicles and other new technologies to disrupt and transform a variety of sectors, including property, mobility and transport, infrastructure, energy, health and connectivity.
More recently, HMLR has begun collaborating with Geovation to help propel the UK towards becoming a global leader in the land and property market.
Alex Wrottesley, Head of Geovation, was also thrilled with the award: “Over the past few years Geovation has grown beyond our expectations. With more than 1,000 members from the UK (and around the world) Geovation provides the community, data and resources to bring new location-data products and services to market. It’s fantastic to see our team’s achievements recognised with this award.”
The team will be receiving the award in Hyderabad this evening. We’re at the Geospatial World Forum in India until 19 January, so drop in and see us at booth 12 if you’re at the exhibition.
You can also hear from some of our team including our CEO Nigel Clifford, Peter Hedlund, Carsten Roensdorf, Andy Wilson and John Kedar. They’re covering topics from Land Administration to underground mapping to 5G deployment.
