Known Topography Layer issues:

  • There is known issue in Airton Green, near Settle where two topographic lines overlap, see image.
  • There is a gap caused by missing area feature in Meethill, near Peterhead, see image.
  • There is an overlapping, superfluous area feature in Lochinver, Elgin, see image.
  • There is a gap in area feature near Alves, Elgin, see image.

Known ITN issues:

  • There is a surplus ‘Mandatory Turn’ RoadRouteInformation feature (osgb5000005174310634) which is preventing progress along the A6135, see image.

  • There is double digitisation where a “Private Road – Restricted Access” RoadLink meets the B6160 (397609.59, 467397.72)

  • The A19 Primary Route Road feature is not contiguous across its extent. The network is complete. The osgb4000000007855454 Road feature does not reference all the RoadLink features which makes up the A19 Primary Route, see image.

  • There is a duplicate Road feature for the A5028. The TOID for these features are osgb5000005154102059 and osgb4000000015685105.

  • The Mandatory Turn RoadRouteInformation feature along the A40 (osgb5000005183480182) provides a routing error because of incorrect link references. The correct link references for the feature are provided below:

Known ITN issues:

  • Progress along A325 southbound is prevented by a missing grade separation value. The RoadLink and RoadNode affected is detailed below:

  • There is an incorrect One Way RoadRouteInformation feature along the B2113 which is preventing progress west to east (531289, 118854), see image.

  • There are 5 One Way RoadRouteInformation features missing along the A34 Princess Street in Manchester (383853, 398165), see image.

  • There are two superfluous RoadLinks along the M3. The TOID values for these links are osgb5000005180035486 and osgb5000005180035510, see image.
  • In this release the ITN COU and FVDS TOID counts do not match which will result in having a surplus TOID in your database which isn’t in the FVDS file. The surplus TOID is a Ferry Link, osgb4000000003226982. We advise customers to either remove osgb4000000003226982 from their holdings or ignore the discrepancy as it will be fixed for the next release.


April 2016

Known ITN issues:

  • The incorrect One Way RoadRouteInformation features around traffic islands along the A630 and A638 from the March 2016 release are also present in this release. These One Ways should be in the opposite direction to allow progress along the A Roads, see images: A630, A638.

  • There is a superfluous RoadLink along the A142 Primary Route please see image.

  • The Haysham to M6 Link project is linking the A683 primary route to the M6. The project is a work in progress and there are RoadLinks which have been created as a part of the ongoing work which are currently isolated while the construction continues (349808, 464122).


March 2016

Known ITN issues:

  • There are incorrect One Way RoadRouteInformation features around traffic islands along the A630, A638 and A38. All these One Ways should be in the opposite direction to allow progress along the A Roads, see images: A630, A683 and A38.

  • There's a known issue in Stanton St Quintin, near Malmesbury, with an overlapping area feature, see image.

  • There are two incorrect One Way Road Route Informations features along the A707 primary route. These links should be two-directional, see image.
  • There is an incorrect One Way Road Route Information on a Traffic Island on the A810 which is preventing traffic flowing east to west, see image.
  • There is an incorrect One Way Road Route Information and a missing Mandatory Turn Road Route Information feature at a junction of the A350 and Westbury Road, see image.
  • There is a poorly-depicted jucntion along the A1 primary Road, which is preventing access from the A1 to a Minor Road, see image.

  • There is a known issue in Hanghill, Tring where spurious line features overlap other features, see image.

  • There are two overlapping line features near Uig, Isle Of Skye, see image.

  • There is a spurious area feature which overlaps other features in Bradfield, Reading, see image.

  • There is a known issue near Loch a’Mhadaidh, Knapdale where the line features overlap, see image.

  • There are areas in Grangemouth where the lines surrounding area polygons are missing, see image 1 and image 2.

  • Known ITN issues:

  • There is a erronous One Way RoadRouteInformation feature which is preventing south easterly progress along the A272, see image.
  • There is a One Way RoadRouteInformation feature in the wrong direction on the slip road and is preventing access to the A1 Primary Route, see image.
  • There are a number of One Way RoadRouteInformation features in the wrong direction along the B218 which require their orientation flipping, see image.
  • There is a poor junction layout which is preventing progress across the A346 dual carriageway, see image.

    • There is a known issue just north of the Stoke Saltings where a gap exists, see image.
    • There is a known issue on Stoke Road near Rochester where a small gap exists, see image.

    Known ITN issues:

    • There is an erroneous one way Road Route Information link along the A345. The link should be in two directions to allow progression northbound along the A345. There should also be a "no turn" right from the A435 onto the Slip Road and a "no turn" left from the slip road onto the Minor Road, Down Barn Road (415620,137715), see image.
    • There is an erroneous one way Road Route Information link along the A814, which is preventing progression eastbound. This link needs to be two way (258010, 664946), see image.
    • There is an erroneous one way Road Route Information link along the A34, which needs its direction reversing to allow southbound progression (391107, 326369), see image.
    • There is an erroneous one way Road Route Information link, which needs its direction reversing to allow progression along the A4020 (505404, 183895), see image.
    • There is an erroneous one way Road Route Information link which should be two way, to allow progression from the A6 onto the B5093 (387371, 394183), see image.
    • There is a missing Road Link along the B119 where it joins the A1205. An alternative route can be found along Gernon Road (536074, 183164), see image.
    • There is a missing Road Link along Magdala Avenue, Islington (529019, 186829), see image.

  • An overlap exists in Buckfastleigh in Devon, see image.
  • There is an overlap along a minor road near Draycott in the Clay in Staffordshire, see image.
  • There are two small overlaps along two minor roads in Rocester, Staffordshire, see the two images here and here.
  • Known ITN issues:

  • There are two missing Road Links along the A66 Primary Route (336317, 527152 and 331573, 524886), see image.
  • There is a one way Road Routing Information Link which is in the wrong direction and is preventing progression southbound along the A404 (513112, 189992), see image.

    • There are two Minor Road missing links between 310071, 268803 and 310439, 268317, see image.
    • There are three one way links along the A108 Primary Route which are in the wrong direction and are preventing eastern progression, see image.
    • There is a missing one way Road Route Information link along the A205 Primary Route, see image.
    • There is an extraneous A Road link in the data which is also being wrongly referenced by a No Turn road Routeing Information Link, see image.

    Known ITN issues:

    • There is a one way link around a traffic island along the A300 which is in the wrong direction. This link should be in the northerly direction, see image.
    • There is a one way link along the A406 primary route which should be two way to allow northerly progression, see image.
    • There is a one way link along the A14 in the wrong direction. This link should be routed in the westerly direction, see image.
    • There is an erroneous link added into the data along the A1009. This route is still routable with the erroneous link, see image.

    Known ITN issues:

    • The Road (road name) for the B4348 is missing from the data. The road link is in the data which is fully routable, see image.
    • There is a missing link along the A53 primary route, see image.
    • There is a missing link along the B1077, see image.
    • There is a one way link which should be two way to allow easterly progress along the A78 Primary Route, see image.

    • OS MasterMap Topography layer contains a very small number of overlapping polygons and 'holes' in the data. It is important to stress that these problems are transient and the application of normal Change Only Update (COU) will remove them in due course.
    • There is a known issue with the River South Esk, which contains gaps, overlaps and double digitised features, see the two related images here and here.
    • There is a gap in foreshore in Monifieth, Dundee, see image.

    Known ITN issues

    • There is a missing dual carriageway link on the A335 preventing routing heading east, see image.
    • There is an incorrect one way stopping progress north to south on the A442, see image.
    • There is a one way link which should be two way on the B6273, see image.

    November 2013

    • The latest OS MasterMap Topography, ITN and Address Layer 2 data release is 11 November 2013.
    • Details on Content improvement areas, included in this refresh are available here.

    Known Topography Layer issues:

    • There are no specific issues to report with this release. However, OS MasterMap Topography layer does contain a very small number of overlapping polygons and 'holes' in the data. It is important to stress that these problems are transient and the application of normal Change Only Update (COU) will remove them in due course.

    Known ITN issues

    • On the A5120 a link (osgb4000000027869790) has been incorrectly changed to one-way, leaving no valid exit through link osgb5000005113155590. This issue has persisted since the previous release, see image.
    • There are three missing links on A roads; the A69 (see image), A2030 (see image) and the A6105 (see image).
    • The A117 has an incorrect connection restricting routing north (see image).
    • There is an incorrect mandatory turn on the A27 forcing all traffic off the A 27 onto a Minor Road. (see image).

    Known Address Layer 2 issues

    • There are just over 196,000 records in the product that do not have a UDPRN. This reason for this issue is known and is awaiting resolution. There are currently 3,571 Postal addresses and 225 MOWPAs with a Topography Layer TOID reference but null Topography Layer TOID version and there are 417 OWPAs with a Road Link TOID reference but null Road Link TOID version. This issue requires further investigation to determine the cause.

    September 2013

    Known ITN issues

    • On the A5120 a link (osgb4000000027869790) has been incorrectly changed to one-way, leaving no valid exit through link osgb5000005113155590. This will be fixed in the next release, see image.
    • Along the B9006, which goes over the A9, there is a missing grade separation value on link osgb5000005111533879 where it meets node osgb4000000003497207. This will be fixed in the next release, see image.
    • Along the A29 there are redundant duplicate links (osgb4000000023827418 and osgb4000000023258302), but the network is still complete through links osgb4000000023263393 and osgb5000005109274527. This will be fixed in the next release.
    • There is a potential issue with the supply of COU tiles for this release. If you experience any problems loading the data please contact Customer Services.

    August 2013

    • All layers are available to order on DVD, via FTP or through the Download centre from 19 August 2013.
    • There is a missing road link in ITN on the A496, at 259456, 334907. This will be fixed in the next refresh See screenshot
    • Details on Content improvement areas, included in this refresh are now available.

    • The missing road link in ITN on the primary route A35 south of Axminster just missed the 'cut off' date or this publication so will definitely be included next refresh.
    • The A4076 from Milford Haven to Haverfordwest has no road number attribution on road links, roundabouts and traffic island links at junctions - this affects 164 TOID references.

    • Pembroke power station and surrounding area has been updated.
    • There is a product creation process causing some double digitised features in Topography layer at Royal Cornwall Hospital, Treliske, Truro - this will be fixed in the next refresh
    • There is a missing road link in ITN on the primary route A35 south of Axminster which will also be fixed shortly.

    • This refresh there is a known error on the A39, due to a one-way attribution on a link. Unfortunately the best alternative route results in a considerable detour.

    All layers are available to order on DVD or via FTP from Monday 10th September 2012. We are pleased to announce the Download centre for 5km orders is also ready from Monday 10th.

    • The A46 routing information has been completed so Topography and ITN is now synchronised.
    • The update of The Wash is now approximately 95% complete.
    • The break in ITN Road Network on the A4 Kensington from last refresh has been fixed.
    • This refresh there is a known error on the A92 dual carriageway. The ITN Road Network link on the inner ring road at the northern end of the Tay bridge is showing a one-way in the wrong direction. This blocks the inner ring road in an anti-clockwise direction at this point.
    • For content improvement in Bristol and Bath, please see the area polygons included in this refresh.

    July 2012
    All layers are available to order on DVD or via FTP from Monday 30 July 2012. The Download centre will be populated shortly; notification will be added when this delivery option is possible.

    • The A1(M) road geometry is now fully synchronised between OS MasterMap ITN Layer and OS MasterMap Topography Layer.
    • Changes to reflect the A46 road widening are progressing with an approximate 8km stretch between Car Colston and Cropwell Butler still to be completed. Therefore the ITN and Topography Layer are not fully synchronised in this publication.
    • Update of The Wash in Topography Layer continues and is approximately 80% complete.
    • There is a break in the ITN Road Network of the A4 in Kensington, London going both ways.
