OS OpenSpace API release notes

The OpenSpace API is a Javascript mapping library that powers the following services from Ordnance Survey:- OpenSpace, OpenSpace Pro and OnDemand WMTS.

OpenSpace API V4.0 Stable Release December 5th 2013

  • Updated Products: 25k, 50k, ZoomMap (Strategi, VMD, VML), Streetview, CodePoint & Boundary-line (missing file content)

OpenSpace API v4.0 Stable Release September 12th 2013

  • Updated Products: Boundary Line, Codepoint, 50k OSL, VML, VMD
  • Fixed copyright controls, so they now appear on top of everything else
  • Implemented GetCapabilities/GetTiles for all datasets/layers

OpenSpace API v4.0 Pilot Release July 18th 2013

  • Updated Products: 50k Gazetteer, & Miniscale
  • Fix for postcode search errors for overlength postcodes
  • Boundary layer map pan
  • Map.getCentre() no longer returns null during dragging
  • Gazetteer Fix for search box issue

  • OS OpenSpace can now be requested in two sizes – the default large size which includes all of the features from OpenLayers and a new small size which excludes less used features. See build size parameters.
  • Compress using Google Clojure to provide smaller download
  • Fixed new OpenSpace methods uniqueArray and inArray
  • Added scripts for Vector Drawing
  • Changed the prototype functions to OpenSpace functions - unique and in for arrays
  • Chrome fix for the new changes in OL
  • Added new erase icon in editing tool bar
  • Updates to documentation
  • Add details of the openlayers classes included in each openspace debug file

  • Added fade in/out on screen message should an application be using a deprecated version. “This OS OpenSpace mapping application needs a software update by the web site owner, and so may not function as expected.”

  • Added a debug facility to inspect un-minified code. To do this add &debug=true to the URL; openspace.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/osmapapi/openspace.js?key=your_api_key_here&debug=true
  • Fixed Screen Overlays that stopped marker info windows working

  • supports touch screen functionality for mobile devices
  • supports OpenSpace API v1.2.2 and v0.8.0 and v2.2.2
  • Provides small logo branding when screen size <300px
  • OGC compliant GetTile requests
  • OGC compliant GetCapabilities requests
