PSMA Methodology winners

Congratulations to the winners of the PSMA Methodology papers which were announced at the PSMA annual conference held on 18 March 2014. The objective of the methodology paper is to look for best guidance on the steps taken to complete a project using data that is often left out of a case study. Sir Ian Magee, chair of GI Customer Group, presented the following awards:

Best PSMA Methodology Paper 2014 – Bristol City Council; this award was voted by PSMA members via October newsletter and during the PSMA regional member events. This is awarded to the methodology that best exemplifies the ethos of the PSMA – using Geographic Information to help make the public sector work more effectively, efficiently and provide positive outcomes for the citizen.

PSMA Methodology Paper 2014 for the most empowering for the community – Compton and Shawford Parish Council.

PSMA Methodology Paper 2014 for the most transferrable methodology – Compton and Shawford Parish Council

PSMA Methodology Paper 2014 for the most innovative use of data – Bristol City Council

Highly commended PSMA Methodology Paper 2014 – Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead; for their paper on PSMA and OS OpenData in an open-source GIS stack

Commended PSMA Methodology Papers went to 3 Fire and Rescue organisations: Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service, Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service and Humberside Fire and Rescue Service.

The PSMA User Representative Group were delighted to receive lots of interest in the PSMA Methodology Papers.
