The Scottish Government has five objectives that underpin its core objectives offering direction for policies and programmes. They provide a framework that promotes Scotland’s economy, environment and its people. OSMA members are often at the forefront of delivering these objectives, tasked with implementing polices set out by the Scottish Government.

We can see evidence of these objectives being supported by the OSMA in case studies. NHS Grampian have used OS data to analyse and deliver their services, more easily identifying under- and over-provision of services, patient travel times and clusters of illness.

Dundee City Council manage their flood risk and improve the cities resilience by managing their flood asset information on OS Water Layer. The Scottish Government has environmental ambitions to promote access to greenspace through the Scottish Greenspace Map, a collaboration between a number of public sector organisations underpinned by OS MasterMap Topography Layer.
