- “I nearly threw it out of the window, however...”
I nearly threw it out of the window. I couldn't register the device because the serial number 1s are printed like Is on the label on the rear of the device, so it's difficult to work out the actual serial number; OS help no good, could only offer a fix, possibly within a week, by contacting the Spanish manufacturer. Sorted it out by going to the TwoNav website and finding out that I could also find the serial number by booting the device and looking at 'settings'. Trying to plot a route using the OS software is a nightmare, and the suggested method of downloading via wifi is very flaky and unacceptably slow (if it does work at all; it often 'hangs'). It is impossible to obtain the 6 'free' tiles via the OS website; you have to get them from the TwoNav website.
However, plotting a route on the 'Bikehike' website, and saving the file as a GPX track to the device by using a USB cable worked a treat; easy, straightforward and very quick (it doesn't work as a download or as a GPX route). Now I've got it working, and changed the scale of the map on screen, it's fab! Much better than my partner's Mio, and the mapping is great. Would definitely recommend, but be prepared for some initial teething issues (hence the 4*s). I don't think OS have really got their act together yet in supporting this product in the UK.
- “All about the mapping”
Pricy, but when compared to comparable products (colour screen of that size) is a good buy. Haven't tried seeme yet but has all i need for performance monitoring and connects to my exisiting heart rate belt. Main draw is the mapping - 3 tiles covers all my local rides with trusty OS mapping.
