Map sheet number 160 is an all purpose map packed full of information to help you really get to know and plan a route or holiday in the Brecon Beacons National Park in South Wales. The 204 Landranger maps cover the country. Each map covers an area of 40 km by 40 km (25 miles by 25 miles) and like other Ordnance Survey maps, National Grid squares are provided so that any feature can be given a unique reference number. The iconic scenery of Brecon Beacons is home to waterfalls, forests, market towns and the highest peak in southern Britain (Pen y Fan) which rises to 886 meters. The region boasts some of the finest walking and mountaineering terrain in Britain and you can explore the industrial heritage and rural Welsh culture by foot, bike, boat or horseback and discover the rich array of geological features. You may also wish to visit quaint nearby market towns such as Llandovery which offers many tourist sights such as the castle ruins, the monument to Llewelyn ap Gruffydd Fychan and the many cafes and gift shops.
