About 'Long Distance Routes'
There are four official Long Distance Routes (LDRs) in Scotland. They were created to help people discover more of the country on well-marked trails that can be completed in a number of stages. Each trail is marked with a distinctive thistle symbol, and is maintained by the local authority, making for easier navigation.
