Meet the Partner

KOREC’s mapping portfolio caters for an even wider variety of applications from the high accuracy demands of utility survey, highways inventories and reinstatement works to more general applications where a simple handheld GPS can deliver. KOREC is a distributor of Soarvo, a cloud based platform that fills the gap between spreadsheets and specialist GIS systems, bringing spatial data, field activity, workflows and reporting into one connected platform. It has been designed to handle OS OpenData.

KOREC’s full offering includes GNSS systems, total stations, laser scanning, reality capture, mobile mapping, drones/UAVs, GIS hardware & software, monitoring solutions, detection equipment, related geospatial software/ecosystems and accessories and consumables. Services include consultancy, training (in-person and online via GeoSchool), technical support, equipment hire, servicing, repair and calibration.

How they can help you

As an early pioneer of GIS, survey and field data capture technology, KOREC has been committed to furthering the use of spatial data for over 30 years. Today, our specialised team of professionals brings over 100 years of combined mapping experience to the table. When it comes to mapping workflows, we’re dedicated problem solvers with extensive experience across a vast range of specialised industries – from Archaeology to Zoology and everything in between. The KOREC difference is our end-to-end service. We provide workflows, UAVs, data controllers, GPS hardware, GIS software, cloud sharing platforms, training, support and much more – as little or as much as you require. We’re on hand throughout your project lifecycle to support your uptake and best use of new systems.

Korec has assisted a number of customers: National Highways - How a clever Soarvo field data capture app and a cm accurate low-cost Triimble GNSS have enabled National Highways to achieve the same amount of defect work in just one shift whilst saving around £20k on each 5km stretch of carriageway. Anglian Water Services - we helped them solve complex and long-standing flooding problems through a data led approach and astute use of low cost, centimetre accurate, GNSS field data capture using Trimble Catalyst and quadrupled their data understanding.

Survey Operations - they exploited their Wingtra drone’s interchangeable LiDAR/camera payloads and straight forward workflows to create impressive operational and data quality advantages on smaller sites such as a 58 hectare golf-complex project. The result: improved efficiency, reliable repetitive accuracy, significant operational gains and superior quality deliverables for the client.

"To be able to capture data from site, with 1-2cm accuracy, using just a mobile app (Soarvo) and a Trimble Catalyst is second to none."

Andrew Stephenson, Design Manager, MWS (now M Group (Water)

"In the past it would take us around one day to digitise forty manhole cards with all the information we collect. We can now cut this time by 70%."

Chris Alcock, Survey Manager, RPS

"Typically, to close a road and mark-out a 5km stretch of dual carriageway for defect repairs would take three shifts of 8 people and cost between £3k and £10k depending on the size of the job. Using the KOREC app functionality, we can now achieve the same amount of work in just one shift saving us around £20k on each 5km stretch."

Michael Ambrose - Technical Lead on the National Highways Concrete Roads Programme
