Information request

We received your request on 20 July 2026.

We have handled your request under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000.

A copy of your request is set out in the extract below:

"I request a copy of the full Ordnance Survey report commissioned by HM Land Registry in relation to the XXX, together with all associated documents.

Specifically, I request:

  1. The complete Ordnance Survey report.
  2. All plans, map extracts, map sections, survey drawings, overlays, and any other cartographic material showing the boundary of XXX that formed part of or accompanied the report.
  3. Any survey notes, technical reports, explanatory documents, metadata, and supporting information produced as part of [survey]
  4. The date of the commission, and the date the completed report was provided."

Our response

We consider requests for copies of survey information to be a routine business enquiry, and they are ordinarily dealt with by our Customer Services team. On this occasion, however, we have considered your correspondence under FOIA as requested and provide our response below.

I confirm that Ordnance Survey does hold some of the information you have requested. Where the information is not held or is exempt from disclosure this is stated. Taking each request in turn, I confirm the following:

1. The complete Ordnance Survey report

2. All plans, map extracts, map sections, survey drawings, overlays, and any other cartographic material showing the boundary of XXX that formed part of or accompanied the report

3. Any survey notes, technical reports, explanatory documents, metadata, and supporting information produced as part of survey

Some of this information is held. We hold the complete Ordnance Survey report, which includes annotated plans and supporting information produced as part of the survey, namely photographs. We hold no further information.

This information is exempt from disclosure under Section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 as set out below.

Section 21 (information accessible by other means)

Details of the Survey Report, which comprises the entirety of the information we hold in relation to this survey, can be obtained directly from HM Land Registry, quoting the relevant title number.

Section 21 is an absolute exemption and therefore is not subject to the public interest test.
