Find directions to our head office by road, rail and air.

By road

From all points north, east and west, leave the M27 at junction 3 and take the M271 southbound towards Southampton.

Exit the M271 after half a mile (the first left) and turn left towards Lordshill.

At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Adanac Drive. Ordnance Survey’s office is straight ahead. Take the third exit at the roundabout for our visitors’ car park.

By rail

Southampton is just over one hour from London by train. There are regular services to Southampton Central train station from London Waterloo, the Midlands, South Wales and the south coast. Please see National Rail enquiries for details.

Taxis are available outside both Southampton Central station exits. The journey time from Southampton Central to Ordnance Survey is approximately 15 minutes by car. Alternatively, take a local bus.

By air

The nearest airport is Southampton Airport. Taxis are available outside the terminal and the journey time to Ordnance Survey is about 15 minutes.

By motorway, London Heathrow Airport is about 60 miles away, and Gatwick about 90 miles.

When you arrive

Please go straight to reception when you arrive. You'll need to bring photo ID with you and then you'll be given a visitor's pass.

If you need to arrange a return taxi at any point, just ask a receptionist who will book it for you.

Building access

Our head office building in Southampton is accessible to all of our visitors. All pathways within the grounds and leading to the main entrance are on one level, as are each of our floors. There is also lift access to every floor.

There are designated car parking spaces for disabled drivers or passengers which are available close to the main entrance. Induction loops are available at reception and in meeting rooms, and guide dogs are welcome.
