Does anyone know how to covert the OpenData X and Y coordinates into the equivalet latitude and longitude values ?

X & Y values are provided in CSV files in the GEOMETRY_X (column I) and GEOMETRY_Y (column J) when viewed in Excel. The same coordinates are also used in the MBR_XMIN, MBR_YMIN, MBR_XMAX and MBR_YMAX columns for the bounding box.

How you approach this depends on the level of precision you're looking for. Assuming the data you're converting is in OSGB1936, there are plenty online converters - this one allows you to submit a batches of coordinates:
      http://www.gridreferencefinder.com/batchConvert/batchConvert.php

There's a more details OS guide and a spreadsheet for conversions here:

        Many thanks for responses.
It would appear a coordinate conversion from OS X&Y to lat/long will need to be written to convert the OS data into something that can easiliy be drawn on our map.
