With OS Match & Cleanse API, you’ll have instant, reliable search results to make removing duplications and cleansing address data easier for your business. Match, correct and validate UK addresses against authoritative data from AddressBase Premium.

What OS Match & Cleanse API provides you with
Fewer duplicate records
For customer data managers, OS Match & Cleanse API lets you build trust in your information. It makes it simple to correct errors from misheard phone calls, for example, so you get fewer duplicate records.
Clean address data
Use full or partial address strings to identify and match your targets – get information about residential and commercial properties quickly and easily.
Easy to integrate
OS Match and Cleanse API is a RESTful web service, so you're free to use our API with other provider's services (subject to third party terms and conditions).
Identify and match your targets
Each address record contains geographic co-ordinates so you can position accurately on a map. They also contain the Unique Property Reference Number (UPRN) so you can cross reference results with other datasets and ensure consistency. Use postcodes, UPRNs or text strings to identify and match your targets - get information about residential and commercial properties quickly and easily.

Handling batches
OS Match & Cleanse API is not designed for bulk matching, although it can handle small batches. If you are doing this, the API throttle should be taken into consideration. If bulk matching is something you would like to do in large quantities, please get in touch to discuss options.
General area requirements
OS Match & Cleanse API won’t find general areas (such as ‘forest’). For this requirement we recommend you use OS Names API.
