This Freedom of Information request asks for details of any losses or special payments from 2018 to 2021

Information request

Thank you for your email of 24 January 2022, requesting information from Ordnance Survey in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000, as set out in the extract below:

“Dear Information Team, This is an information request relating to losses and special payments Please include the information for each of the following periods; 2018-19, 2019-20 and 2020-21:

The total number of cases of losses in each year.
The total cost of losses in each year.
An itemisation of each loss including what it was for and how much it cost.
The total number of special payments in each year.
The total value of special payments in each year.
An itemisation of each special payment including what it was for and how much it cost.”

I confirm we do hold the information, however, we consider the information to be exempt from disclosure under section 21 of the FOIA, as it is reasonably accessible to you by other means.

Losses and special payments are detailed in the Financial Statements of our Annual report and accounts, which are available to view on our website, for the years specified in your request.

Internal review

Your enquiry has been processed according to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000. The Internal Review Officer will not have been involved in the original decision. They will conduct an independent internal review and will inform you of the outcome of the review normally within 20 working days, but exceptionally within 40 working days, in line with the Information Commissioner’s guidance.

The Internal Review Officer will either: uphold the original decision, provide an additional explanation of the exemption/s applied or release further information, if it is considered appropriate to do so.

If, following the outcome of the internal review you remain unhappy with our response, you may raise an appeal, within three months of receiving our response, with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). You should make complaints to the ICO within six weeks of receiving the outcome of an internal review.
